Aldridges of Bath is the city’s longest-running auction house, holding fortnightly auctions and providing valuation services to the residents of Bath & surrounding areas.

The company was founded in the mid-18th century, originally an equine auctioneers and ‘horse bazaar’ based in London’s Covent Garden until 1940.

In the 1970s John Street, after managing the auction department at Jolly’s and wanting to start his own auction house, established Aldridges of Bath, Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers, in the Old School on Walcot Street, Bath.

John’s son Ivan Street took over the role as auctioneer & managing director in the 1990s, and his sons are now the 3rd generation working in the family business.

Established over 40 years ago, we have gained a reputation locally & internationally for the sale of Fine Art, Antiques & Collectables, with thousands of clients in the UK and around the world.

We take pride in providing an honest and friendly service, and make the process of selling & buying antiques at auction as simple as possible.
